MEET THE FOUNDER

Born in America’s heartland in the early 1960s, and growing up on his family farms in landlocked parts of eastern Oklahoma, GC RAD™ Founder & CEO Glenn McNatt went from being a kid nicknamed GC to a competitive water skier and ocean fanatic at an early age. He knew something was different as he longed for the water and felt that’s where his heart was meant to be.

After visiting Cypress Gardens in Florida for the first time at age 14, he set his sights on larger goals surrounding H2O activities such as scuba diving, surfing and skim boarding atop competitive swimming and diving. In 1975, he set a record for continuous slalom, skiing 153 kilometers on Lake Fort Gibson near Wagoner, Oklahoma, exceeding the Guinness World Record by 53 kilometers. His record still stands today.

Although his heart longed for the shoreline, he moved to the western plains of Oklahoma in 1981 to help his father and family build up a filter manufacturing company. During his 38 years in the filtration sector, McNatt became exceedingly mindful of the environment, working with various sectors of industry – both private and public – to better protect our fragile ecosystem on a global scale.

Despite elevating to leadership roles in the company, he felt something was amiss. Now he’s done a 180 to fulfill his lifelong dream of creating a lifestyle brand for sun and surf-lovers from around the world, and the name GC RAD™ is a perfect fit. Waterskiing enthusiasts originally termed McNatt “radical” for his signature stunts and tricks learned from various ski teams back in the 1970s. Now he dons that radical moniker for his conservation efforts, products made of either recyclable or recycled materials and the belief that everyone should adhere to his trademark slogan, "tradin’ deadlines for coastline™."
